MAXIMIZING VA BENEFITS FOR PROGRESSIVE NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS 

Many veterans are afflicted with progressive neurological disorders caused by their military service. Some of the most common of these disorders are Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. At first, these diseases may have only a small impact on the veteran’s life, but they progressively worsen and eventually become debilitating. They severely impact the veteran’s quality of life and ability to work. They affect many body parts and systems and have numerous complications. Due to these factors, the VA often doesn’t properly evaluate these disabilities, award the appropriate level of special monthly compensation (SMC), or grant entitlement to benefits such as an automobile allowance, a housing grant, or caregiver benefits. This webinar helps advocates ensure that their veterans receive all of the VA benefits to which they are entitled for service-connected progressive neurological disorders.
