Webinar Description:

While many veterans advocates focus on helping their veterans obtain service-connected disability compensation, veterans may also be eligible for other important VA benefits. Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) benefits are among those VA benefits that can be life-changing for veterans. Many veterans advocates, however, do not fully understand the benefits available under the VA’s VR&E program and how to help their veterans navigate the VR&E system. Through the VR&E program, eligible veterans with service-connected disabilities may be entitled to training, career counseling, monetary assistance, and several other services. To be eligible for these services, veterans must satisfy certain requirements, and those requirements have changed over time. By attending this webinar, you will learn the ins and outs of the VA’s VR&E program and how to successfully guide your veterans through this sometimes complicated and confusing system.

This webinar will cover topics including:

• The purpose of the VA’s VR&E services
• Entitlement and eligibility requirements for VR&E benefits
• The VR&E Case Status System
• The application and evaluation process for VR&E benefits
• VR&E counseling services
• An in-depth discussion of vocational rehabilitation services, including induction into a rehabilitation program, the duration of programs, individualized written rehabilitation plans, education & vocational training services, employment services, and monetary assistance
• Independent Living
• The appeal process if a veteran is denied VR&E services
